I want to give a shoutout to A Touch of Smiles Dental Care! Dr. Susan Ra, and her staff saved my Thanksgiving holiday! 1 week before Thanksgiving I had a tremendous tooth ache, and had to have a tooth extraction. Well Touch of Smiles was able to fit me into their busy pre holiday schedule, and perform the necessary dental work in a remarkably efficient manner. After the necessary surgery my mouth started feeling a lot better right away, thus I was able to enjoy my Thanksgiving dinner! Thank you Dr. Susan Ra and staff for your help and, dedication to helping your patients!!
I always feel Dr Ra has my best interest for my dental health in mind when I’m in the office and out in the real world. I’m grateful for her professional expertise and her very helpful office & dental staff. Always a pleasant experience for me at Touch of Smiles.
This visit I met and worked with th new dental hygienist who was so gental but thorough. Hope she stays at Touch o smiles. Thank you! I did miss my personal friendly, coversation about the viewing interest I share in common with Dr Ra who was attending a seminar today. Yes, after so many years as her patient, I consider Dr. RA a friend! She has totally transformed my fear of dental visits by being a skilled, contemporary, confident and friendly dental problem solver.
Daily oral hygiene is essential to keeping your mouth clean and healthy. But as important as brushing and flossing are, they aren’t enough on their own to protect your teeth and gums. General dentistry covers a wide range of treatments designed to help you prevent and detect dental problems, so you can keep your oral health on track.
Food healthy for your teeth includes those high in calcium and phosphorus, such as dairy products, leafy greens, and almonds. High-fiber foods like fruits and vegetables can help clean teeth and stimulate saliva production. As a result, it helps neutralize acids in the mouth. Crunchy fruits and vegetables, like apples and carrots, can help scrape away plaque and massage gums. Finally, drinking plenty of water can rinse away food particles and acids that can cause tooth decay.
Chewing sugar-free gum can actually be beneficial for your teeth! It stimulates saliva production, which helps wash away food particles and neutralize acids. However, gum with sugar can contribute to tooth decay. Look for gum sweetened with xylitol, a natural sugar substitute that can actually help prevent cavities. As always, moderation is key. So enjoy a piece of sugar-free gum after meals to freshen your breath and promote oral health, but be mindful of excessive chewing that can strain your jaw muscles.
We can see you as soon as tomorrow!
