See How to Create a Stronger Smile
So a lot of times, our teeth, depending on which teeth are missing, cannot hold the forces of your every day mouth closure or eating. So the function gets compromised. When you have a lot of missing teeth, you start to lose the height of your face, which also loses the amount of space that your tongue has. And when that happens, then you lose airway. And losing airway…you need air in your body in order to reduce the inflammation. Replacing those missing teeth will reverse all of that and it will also give them more function as far as eating and stabilizing their jaw in place. So if you have missing teeth on one side, it can actually get lopsided and put a lot of force on the other side and it causes pain for some patients.
